Season of Giving! Season of Joy! Season of… Guilt?

It’s cold outside, people in Maryland are still snowed in, and nobody wants to go for a walk in the neighborhood, let alone hit the gym. ‘Tis the Season of Joy! And for many, there is joy to be found in sugar, fat, and lazy days.

Ah, but for most, there is still guilt.

Shoppers Looking for the Perfect Gift

Yes, indeed, this is the Season of Guilt. How many times have you heard people remark that they shouldn’t be eating this, or they should be exercising, and verbally throwing in the towel? You have probably heard at least one friend hold a conversation with herself that sounds something like this:

“I should not be eating these cookies. I just had pie for breakfast. Oh, wow, but they are so delicious! I really want one more. I’m totally blowing my diet, but it’s the holidays! I’ll just make another New Year’s Resolution in January, and this time, I swear I am going to stick to it!”

You probably just stared at her, wondering if she expected you to answer. It was as if she was seeking your approval. Ironically, you are the wrong person to be seeking approval from. You love fitness like I do, so of course, her words made you cringe. But why not see it for the personal trainer business opportunity that it is?

Because your services, whether they be classes, private training, gym membership services, or any other fitness-related offerings, are awesome. You know it. The customers who have purchased your services in the past know it. You just need to bring some new customers in who have never experienced the awesomeness of your services before, and very soon, they will know it, too. And what better way to bring new customers in the door than with a short-term gift certificate? Once they see how awesome you are, they will want to continue doing business with you.
