Promote A Low Glycemic Diet To Your Clients
Are your clients having a hard time losing weight? Have they reached a plateau and aren’t seeing results like they did when they first started training with you? With all of the fad diets on the market today, it’s hard to find a diet that clients will stick to. Many of the diets call for the elimination of nutrients and are very restrictive. Who wants to stick to a diet that calls for the elimination of foods you enjoy? Besides, eliminating an entire nutrient from your diet just doesn’t make sense.
When your client turns to you for nutritional advice, you can teach them a simple method of eating that will shed unwanted pounds and optimize their energy levels. The Low G. I. Diet is an easy to follow diet that classifies foods as low, medium or high on the glycemic index.
Think of the glycemic index as, “sugar in the blood”. By eating foods that fall into the low end of the scale, your body has a nice even supply of energy throughout the day. When you eat foods that are high on the scale, your energy levels will spike and not long after your body will “crash” leaving you feeling weak and tired.
As an example, if you choose to have a coffee and a chocolate muffin for breakfast you will most likely feel a surge in energy. In a short period of time that rush will be gone and you’ll feel burnt-out or lazy. On top of the lack of energy, your pancreas will be forced to produce extra insulin which over the long run can lead to diabetes. The number of people living with diabetes in North America is at an all-time high and much of this is due to an over consumption of foods that are high on the glycemic index.
By replacing the coffee and muffin with a bowl of oatmeal and a banana your energy levels will be more consistent. These foods take the body longer to break down and the energy is distributed to the body more evenly.
Following the Low G.I. Diet is simple and has many benefits. Your clients will take off unwanted pounds and more importantly keep them off. By cutting down on foods high on the glycemic index they won’t have to produce as much insulin which reduces your chances of becoming a diabetic. Another advantage of this diet is that it leads to lower cholesterol levels which in turn helps reduce the risk of heart disease. As a bonus to you the trainer, you can take advantage of their increased energy and endurance levels. You’ll be able to increase the intensity of your client’s workout which will lead to even greater results and very happy clients.
The Low G.I. Diet is a simple and effective diet that will have your clients raving about you as a trainer. The results will speak for themselves and you can be sure that you’ll retain your existing clientele and attract new clients. An increase in demand for you as a trainer will lead you to greater income potential and financial freedom.
