Networking Your Business To Success
So you’re ready to start your own personal training business. You’ve got realistic goals set up, loyal clients that’ll follow you anywhere, and a killer vision of where your business needs to go. It seems like you’ve got all of the bases covered…but have you considered using other businesses as a method of increasing your clientele base – and ultimately, your profits?
Just as referrals from other clients generate more clients, networking with other businesses is a powerful secret to getting you name out there, with less sweat involved.
Networking is like forming an alliance with another business – you both agree to help out each other through referrals, and everyone reaps the benefits. For example, if you agree to promote a health store’s nutritional supplements, that store can in turn recommend you as a top local personal trainer to their customers.
Clients are more likely to use a recommended product or service when it’s recommended by a person or brand that they trust, because it saves a ton of hassle that would have otherwise been spent searching for their right fit.
By aligning yourself with another reputable business, their clients will quickly become your clients – and your income will easily double with almost no effort!
Try signing up with a local networking organization to find these types of professional relationships. These groups may hold luncheons or conferences where several companies get together with one identical goal in mind: to find more business.
Contact your local business bureau to find out how to join these networking groups, or search online for personal training forums. If your town doesn’t have a chapter, try starting one of your own! You’ll quickly find tons of high-quality businesses that are more than willing to tout your services in exchange for your own endorsement.
Don’t forget to join any national chapters as well; you can find some of the best personal trainers in the business, and they’ll be willing to offer you advice on your own venture.
For personal trainers, some of the easiest networking opportunities can be found with dietary product manufacturers.
