Ideas in Starting a Fitness Bootcamp
As a personal trainer you should be constantly looking for new ways to increase your client list. A business that isn’t growing, remember, is dying. That’s why many trainers are hosting their own fitness bootcamps. Of course, you may have a simple question regarding these intense workout sessions: How the hell do you make money from fitness bootcamps?
The short answer? You make money by attracting as many attendees as possible to your bootcamp. You then make additional money by turning these bootcamp attendees into longterm clients.
Figuring out how to do this is the real trick.
Create an Appealing Bootcamp
The first step is to create a bootcamp that is not only effective, but fun. People want to lose weight and build their strength. But they want to enjoy themselves while doing this.
Make sure, then, to include a wide variety of activities in your camp. Focus on the core weight-loss and strength-building exercises, but also include fun team-building activities. Maybe you can break up the day with a full-court basketball game or an intense tag-team race. You are only limited by your own imagination.
Don’t Overspend on Marketing
A key to making money from your fitness bootcamp is to spend as little as possible in organizing it. One area in which it’s easy to save money is marketing.
This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t market your bootcamp; your attendance will suffer if you don’t actively promote it. But you don’t have to spend a fortune to do this.
Start your marketing efforts by asking your current clients, friends and family members to spread the word about your upcoming bootcamp. You’d be surprised at how effective this type of word-of-mouth advertising is. Then, tape flyers to the windows of local businesses promoting your event, and send press releases to your area papers and magazines. Take out an ad or two on craigslist.org. All of these marketing strategies are free or inexpensive. Better yet, they’re effective.
Consider Targeting Specific Groups
Another way to make money with a bootcamp, is to hold several during the year that each target a select group of attendees. For instance, you might hold a bootcamp that focuses on stretching exercises, yoga and low-impact aerobics. You can target this bootcamp toward seniors.
You may hold an intense strength-training bootcamp that appeals mainly to athletes or veteran fitness buffs. You can even hold fitness bootcamps designed specifically to help people recover from injuries. Again, the only thing limitng you is your own imagination.
Consider fitness bootcamps as just one more tool for building your business. If done right, these bootcamps can not only earn you a few extra dollars, they can provide a significant boost to your client list. Hopefully, these strategies can help you answer the question of how the hell you make money from fitness bootcamps.
