Expert Strategies For Dealing With Major Business Anxiety

It’s only human nature to worry; but when you’re starting your own personal training business, it can be very easy to feel bogged down by anxiety.  When you’re the only one responsible for every part of your business, you start to think that there’s not enough hours in the day for everything that you need to do!

Believe me, it’s totally normal to feel this way as a business owner – even steel-eyed CEOs have felt overwhelmed at some point in their careers.  But you want to make sure that your anxiety isn’t negatively effecting how you run your business.  Here’s what to do when you start to feel overwhelmed and need to get your sanity back:

Know How To Prioritize.
If you’re just completing random tasks as they pop up, you’re not using your most important commodity effectively – time.  Next time you’re exhausted by a full plate, try this tip: list everything that you need to do, and then rank them from most important to least important.  Focus on your more pressing tasks, and then move on. Items at the bottom of the list probably don’t need to be completed.

Put Your Phone On Hold.
Thanks to today’s technology, we can be in touch with our friends and family 24/7.  Unfortunately, this can apply in the business world as well.  Schedule specific times during the day to check your email and your phone, and stick to it!  Otherwise, you can easily get sidetracked by emails and calls that can wait until later in the day.

Learn How To Say No.
Sometimes, a client or professional will come along and demand a bit too much of your time, for very little profit.  Save yourself the headache by learning how to say no to high-maintenance projects.

Map Out Your Day.
You’ll be able to manage your clients and paperwork more effectively – and with less anxiety – if you schedule your day beforehand.  Try not to stray too much from your schedule, as this is another pitfall that can lead to lots of worry.

There’s no magic formula that will guarantee you a worry-free career, but these tips are great ways to get a handle on major stress that can pop up on the job.  Once you’re effectively managing your anxiety, try taking your business to the next level and sign up for my Free Personal Trainer Business Bootcamp.
