If you’re looking for an easy way to earn extra money, try getting paid to recommend nutritional supplement products that you believe in. You could be recommending your favorite nutritional supplements to clients for a cash kickback and watching your business revenue grow.
The best part is, your clients succeed physically while you succeed financially, and the supplement manufacturer succeeds in gaining visibility with new clients. It’s a classic example of a win-win-win.
If It Works for You, It Can Work for Them
Your supplements can really help achieve results. You probably recommend products to your clients all the time anyway. You could earn a kickback for your referral, and then sit back and watch your business account grow. How does it work, you ask?
If you don’t already know this as a small business owner or independent fitness instructor, then let me enlighten you. Word-of-mouth advertising is the best form of advertising. It holds the highest level of credibility of any kind of marketing strategy you could implement. This is because people believe what you say about a product when you’re not getting paid to say it.
Actors are liars. They are paid to lie. You know it. I know it. Your potential clients know it, too.
The Benefits of Word-of-Mouth Advertising
It’s a fitness marketing strategy that can work in your own personal trainer business. Satisfied clients who talk up your business earn you new clients. In fact, if you aren’t offering referral credits to your existing clients, you may be missing out on an advertising gold mine. Offer a discount on your client’s next bill if she brings a new client in your door.
Likewise, satisfied sports supplement customers who talk up the benefits of taking the supplements earn business for the manufacturer. Therefore, if you’re a talking satisfied supplement customer, you’re worth your weight in gold to a fitness supplement manufacturer. Read more…

The end of this dreary winter weather is finally in sight, and folks are starting to think about summer clothes – specifically, what their legs will look like in a pair of shorts.
Business will ramp up along with the outdoor temperatures, but you might be wondering how you can take advantage of the increased business and increase your income even more.
If you haven’t considered it before, consider now adding promotion of nutritional supplements to your list of normal services. Watch your revenue grow with little to no effort on your part. If you promote supplements that really work, they practically sell themselves.
Taking Advantage of the Weather in Every Way You Can
You’ve just been in a business slump, because half of the clients who signed up with you the first week of January dropped out by February. New Years’ Resolutions go about as far as your flabby, out-of-shape client can throw a piano.
But he knows his piano-throwing ability is on the weak side, and he wants to not only throw it farther, but look good doing it. He knows those arms won’t be hidden under sweatshirts much longer, and he’s thinking seriously about enlisting your services. You know spring is one of your best business seasons, because clients want to look good in their summer clothes. You should be taking advantage of the weather in every way you can, and the sooner, the better.

What makes you the personal trainer that clients come to see? You’re a personal trainer in a market saturated with probably dozens of local personal trainers.
What sets you apart?
If you don’t have an answer to the question, you might want to spend some time thinking about it. And for your reading enjoyment, here’s one idea.
Visions of Sugarplums Danced in Their Heads
You guide clients in their exercise regimes. You motivate them. You help them meet your goals.
If you’re good, you might even tell your clients what to eat. And if you’re anything like me, you’re probably recommending a high quality, organic, raw, sprouted rice protein shake with almond butter and flax seed oil, and a steaming cup of organic, fair-trade coffee for breakfast.
Duh. Isn’t that what we all want for breakfast?
Here’s the thing: your clients are not personal trainers. If they were, they wouldn’t need a personal trainer. With that in mind, you have to step back and think like a client instead of a personal trainer. The majority of your clients are motivated by their goals.
They have a vision of their final state. But they also have visions of sugarplums dancing in their head. And by sugarplums, I mean beer, wings, and chocolate. Read more…

So you know what nutritional supplements are, but you’re probably wondering what the heck you have in common with Dutch Speed Skater Sven Kramer, Olympic gold medalist in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Allow me to show you the comparison between you and Sven: (1) You didn’t win Olympic Gold in the Men’s 10,000-meter Speed Skating event, and (2) You could earn income via product sponsorships.
A Different Kind of Gold
Okay, to be fair, you probably weren’t even in the running for the Men’s 10k Speed Skate. And since you didn’t win, like Sven, you sadly lost out on about a half a million dollars. But I’m not here to tell you how to win Olympic gold medals in Vancouver.
As a fitness instructor, you probably already know what it takes to reach that level of competition, and it starts at a much younger age than you are now (assuming you’re legally old enough to have a job.) Not to mention, it’s way too late to get qualified for Vancouver.
However, I *am* here to tell you how to make a bunch of gold – of the cash and coin variety – without really trying, and it’s all related to fitness product sponsorships. Read more…

You Can’t Sell Just Anything
There’s a real problem with being a personal trainer that tries to go the extra mile. You want to get the best results possible for your client, and that means more than just exercise advice. You’re their source for nutrition and even some lifestyle choices, but most importantly you should be their source for fitness supplements.
At the same time, you need to make a living. What you need is a product that can work for you and your client, not a product that you work for. You need to get with a company that is as reputable as you are. You need to show your clients a supplement that has helped professional athletes and millions of other users, which can now be of help to them.
Good Enough for Them, Good Enough for You
Call it professional suicide when you start recommending products that you wouldn’t take yourself. Your level of fitness advertises the results that are possible for your clientèle. In a similar way, the supplements that you take personally are also advertised to your clients. Your own use proves they work. But how about a product line that has been used by world class athletes? Professional athletes? Olympic athletes?

As a personal trainer, you know it’s a lot more than telling your clients how to exercise. You counsel clients on frequency of workouts, rest periods, nutrition, and fitness supplements. It’s your job to make sure that every aspect of your client’s health and training is cared for.
Unfortunately, this is not always obvious to weekend warriors or casual gym attendees. Too many personal trainers just regurgitate exercise regimens designed around goals. Too many personal trainers recommend supplements that aren’t the best in the business.
But not you.
You know that training is as much about who is doing it as it is about what they want to achieve. You treat every client differently because every client is different. And you only advise the sport supplements that you would take yourself.
Pitfalls of Personal Trainer Nutrition
Unfortunately, a supplement that works for you might not work as well for your client. Or you could find a great line of products for your clientele – but that company might not work with personal trainers. Your time and your advice are professional assets, and you need to be properly reimbursed to stay in business.

Why would a personal trainer want to promote health products? The answer is two-fold: to benefit them and their clients.
Promoting health products benefits your client. When you recommend products that enhance their lives or accelerate their training, your customers are happy. Happy customers give referrals!
Referrals are one way that promoting health products can benefit your business. From those referrals, you will have some customers who do not want your personal training services. Instead, they will come to you solely for your health products. By promoting health products, you can open a whole new revenue-building aspect of your business.
Your profit on the health products you choose to promote is another good reason to consider selling them. Check with the supplier you choose. How do they sell their supplements and products?
