social-media-collogeYour Personal Trainer Business Needs a Trim Budget

A personal trainer business should not require a huge budget – it doesn’t have to. The fitness business is about marketing your unique skills to clients, and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Having low overhead costs allows you to profit without having to charge your customers unreasonable fees. However, marketing can be a massive black hole that eats infinite money if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Don’t let yourself fall into this trap. With the right knowledge you can market your personal training business without spending a fortune.

Social Media Marketing Can Promote Your Personal Trainer Business Within Your Budget

Everyone loves social networking websites. Facebook, Twitter, and the like have taken over the Internet, and chances are most of your clients and potential clients are on them.

Your customers enjoy telling people what they’re up to, or bragging about their favorite products to friends. When your clients can easily talk about your personal trainer business on a status update, their pictures become testimonials to how effective your services really are. When they upload new pictures and family and friends see the changes in body fat and lean muscle, they’ll have good reason to tell everyone how much you helped them. This provides social proof that your fitness business delivers real results. Seeing is believing.

Creative Fitness Marketing to Boost Your Business

Posted By Casey Kaldal

marketing-collageYou’ve done all the traditional marketing. Your name is in the yellow pages, the white pages, and the yellow book. You have a website, so you’re on the Internet. You even paid for a big sign in front of your business that stands out among its neighbors. But most of your competitors have done these things, too, so it’s time to apply some innovating thinking to your marketing strategy.

And when it comes to creative fitness marketing, it’s not so much where you advertise as how you advertise.

Gaining Competitive Edge

Forget the phone books. Don’t pay huge sums for big partial- or full-page spreads, because very few people use them anymore. If you want to hit a large audience, you’ll find it online. You’re already online (or you should be), so it’s not a matter of where. It’s how you sell your services.

What Obama has taught me about Internet marketing

Posted By Casey Kaldal

obama-road-sign-internet-marketingBarack Obama’s internet marketing skills where fantastic on his run to Presidency.
Obama looked better on the Web than John McCain, and that was enough to earn him the title of Mr. President.

Historians often credit John F. Kennedy’s presidential win over Richard Nixon in 1960 to the fact that Kennedy simply looked more comfortable on television. Nixon looked sweaty and nervous. Kennedy looked cool and calm. He looked like a president.

In the 2008 election, the Internet was television. And Obama looked a whole lot more comfortable dealing with and wielding Web technology than his opponent ever did.

McCain never did seem to understand just how important the online world was. Obama had reached out to the young voters of the United States through sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. He encouraged them to donate money, buy t-shirts, paste bumper stickers on their cars and pass out Obama buttons to their friends and neighbors.

Make A Web Presence And Reel In Clients

Posted By Casey Kaldal

Make a web presence and reel in clientsFor just about any business today a website is as necessary as a business card. In many ways, searching the web for local businesses has taken the place of searching the yellow pages. As an added plus, creating a web presence for the purpose of bringing in clients is relatively easy.

Stand out in the Crowd:
Many gyms and health clubs feature bulletin boards that are plastered with cards and fliers from numerous local personal trainers, many with phone numbers and email addresses. Yet business cards and fliers with pull-off chads only go so far with describing the services offered. Posting on these same bulletin boards plus having a URL address to direct potential clients to a website gives the impression of a real professional operation.

Why A Personal Trainer Should Have A Blog

Posted By Casey Kaldal

Why A Personal Trainer Needs A BlogNo matter what business you run, you must have a web presence; there is now way around it. Because of advancements in technology, most business is acquired through traffic to a website, blog, or other informational and persuasive web page. No business nowadays, especially a personal training business, can survive by fliers and word-of-mouth alone.

Furthermore, personal training businesses are very competitive, and because of this, you need to hit the ground running. If this step in the process is missed, money will be left on the table and the personal trainer will not be working to his/her potential.

Personal training includes the word “personal;” this means that the work entails obtaining personal information, speaking to people on a personal level, and pushing individuals past their personal level of comfort to obtain results.

You must use the Internet to maximize your income.
This is why having a clean, neat, and professional look about your business is key. Fliers and business cards are valuable but not circulated as much as they once were – this is why a personal trainer must use the internet to increase sales.

Everyone in the business world knows that presence and image go a long way. If you do not possess a way for people to see you and your business in an easy and popular way, there will be many potential customers just hanging out there.

A blog or web page is essential because

Using the Internet to Find Local Clients

Posted By Casey Kaldal
Whether you are new to the field or are an experienced personal trainer, you should know how competitive the health and wellness industry can be. In order to continue doing what you love and being paid well for it, you need to maintain a solid client base. This involves keeping your current clients satisfied, attracting new clients and getting potential clients excited about the services you provide.
Many personal trainers believe that the best ways to attract a wider clientele are the typical avenues of local newspaper advertising, word-of-mouth referrals and strategically placed brochures around town.
Although these approaches can and do work to bring you new business, it is necessary to consider how the Internet can provide you with more opportunities to find local clients. Some people might believe that using the Internet as a marketing tool might be too complicated or too large to target users in your local community. This is simply not true.
The benefits of having an online presence are too great to ignore.
The Internet provides a host of advantages for those in the health and wellness industry. With a business web page or blog, information about your services is available to potential clients day or night. While looking for a personal training service in your area, local users can find information about your services at their convenience, and from the comfort of their own homes, they can learn more about you and how you can help them.
With a blog, you can:
Share your credentials and experience.
List the specific services that you provide
Offer testimonials from satisfied customers.
Offer tips and helpful articles to demonstrate your passion and expertise about fitness.
Setting up a blog is a snap, and adding content is a breeze.
Search engines love blogs, and people love search engines. Your blog will be easy to find when potential customers search for a local personal trainer. More traffic to your blog equals more clients, and more clients equal better earnings. An interesting blog that showcases all that you have to offer can garner new customers, who will be eager to work with you.
The Money is in the list.
An electronic newsletter is another method of Internet marketing that keeps your services fresh in the minds of potential customers. Emailing an interesting newsletter with tips, fitness facts and special offers lets your keep in touch with current clients, while reaching new customers. You can collect emails in person or with the help of an email submission form right on your web site or blog. Just like the one you see on this page to the right. You find a reputable service, such as an email responder, to help you organize your addresses and keep the email of clients and potential clients private. Here is the one I use.
Once you begin viewing the Internet as a tool for business, you may find more opportunities to establish yourself as a health and wellness expert and build your reputation as a personal training professional. The life of a fitness trainer can be personally, financially and physically rewarding. However, without a steady clientele, you will not experience these rewards. With a consistent online presence and a determined approach, you can expand your customer base by attracting more local business through the unlimited potential of the Internet.
